BACKGROUND & APPROACH

I became a therapist to offer to others what I felt I needed at a difficult time in my own life. You'll recognize this passion in the work we do together.

I am a queer, Mexican-American therapist, and the first in my family to graduate from college. Growing up, I was deeply immersed in music, stories, poetry, and culture. I was born and raised in Southern California and witnessed the adversity my parents faced when working endlessly and tirelessly. I grew up feeling the weight of family and societal expectations, placing others' emotions before my own, and striving to find my place in this world. I am a product of my ancestors. My life has been centered around navigating my own revered intersectional identities and continuing to learn and heal from generational trauma. All of this allows me to provide deep compassion AND show up in solidarity with you. I am especially passionate about supporting Latinx, BIPOC, and LGBTQIA2S+ individuals.

--

As a therapist, my purpose is to help you delve into every aspect of your identity (even those that have been othered, shamed, or suppressed) and to encourage you in the process of embracing and valuing yourself more completely. You are whole just as you are. Your struggles are a product of what you have been through and are not a statement of your worthiness as a human being. What's most important to me is creating a refuge for you to feel seen, heard, and understood.

--

My practice is deeply rooted in providing an affirming, intuitive, authentic, and thoughtful approach, and I place great value on collective healing

My values are anti-racist and anti-oppressive, always.

Whatever your origin, race, culture, sexuality, gender identity, ability, or immigration status, you are safe and welcome here.

--

When not working, you'll find me reading fiction, enjoying large amounts of iced coffee, and moving my body through dance, hiking, and yoga.

If all this connects with you, we may be a good fit!
